As an impartial observer I must protest your calling Labour supporters communists and cowards. Is it fair if they call you a fascist warmonger?

In the United States this kind of divisive partisanship is destroying democracy, and dividing us when we most need to be united. I suggest that you calm down, and look for some middle ground you can all live with.

Incidentally, to a moderate from abroad it looks like your government has worn out its welcome more through arrogance than anything else. If they lose, it might be best for their supporters to blame themselves.

They arn't thing you have to realise is there all to busy working two jobs to pay the house repayments and keep food on the table after Mr Howard put taxes on things we Australians need, I support Labour as they want to help average Australians not the rich wake up and have a look.
And while where at it why don't you look back to who was the treasurer of Australia at that time and put us in debt you may be surprised it was none other than our Prime Minister Mr Howard so don't blow smoke up his arse cause it might just spark .
I hope Rudd gets in maybe then real issues may get addressed,
Look at what has happened to our rights
we Can't protest because it looks bad even though Bush is murdering innocent blood
we now have low wages
thanks to him our fuel has a tax on a tax
food has an extra tax on it
I see how we are moving forward with him

I'm Australian and old ( 49 – well, 50 next month) so I've seen both the Whitlam and Hawke/Keating Labor Governments. I just hope that if Kevin Rudd gets in, he won't let the Unions run riot or else we will have wages and therefore inflation spiralling out of control – but I'm not too hopeful. Don't forget that it was the unions that started the Labor Party in Australia so basically everything has to be ratified by them. Also, the Labor Party has a history of spending up big on welfare issues and then it has to find the money for it. Bingo! Tax increases. Although many are aimed at the "rich", many average workers are caught up too so it ends up costing the very people it is supposed to help.

I am in the USA. I've heard Australia's left wingers have banned guns and now the crime rate is rising. Is this true? The communists want to undermine our freedom and prosperity so they can blame capitalism and lack of government. All they want is power, they don't really care about people.

Howard is among the laughing stock of the world. I think it's more of an "anyone but him" situation. freedom- Crime has actually decreased overall in Australia over the past 10 years. However, it has increased in certain areas, particularly containing a lot of ethnic minorities.
