What kind of power cables can be plugged into a car?

I recently got a laptop and will soon be going on a long trip. Are there any kind of power cables that can be plugged into the lighter/power source? If there are any, where could I be able to find such cables?

yes its called a dc/ac converter and you can get them just about any auto parts store or walmart/meijer stores as well from 25-45 dollar range

    Yes, try best buy and if you have a Mac, go to apple online.

    you can plug a special cable into the cigarette slot and then it has a normal plug which you have in your home in the end of it and then your have a proper socket..

    Most laptop manufacturers do auto adapters that fit into the cigarette lighter socket.

    i got a thing that plugs into a cig lighter that you can plug in a wall plug into. now my kids can play video games in the car! weeee!

    what you need is called a power inverter, you plug it into the cig lighter on the car and the other end has a standard house type socket into which you plug the normal laptop charger. i use one and it is great, it means i can charge the laptop anywhere
