If you were forced to give up your washing machine or dishwasher – which would you keep?
A radical left-wing government has come to power and is implementing it’s energy conservation law. All households can only have one major washing appliance… either a washing machine or a dishwasher – but not both.
A sophisticated electricity monitoring system is in place to detect if any household is secretly using both. Penalties for violating this law is 5 years in a re-education prison on a small cold barren island off Scotland.
Would you keep your washing machine or your dishwasher ?
(I love both and haven’t decided which I could easiest live without)
This question isn’t for peasants or New Age grungy types who don’t have either.
Obviously I would keep the washing machine! Have you every washed your clothes by hand???
It’s something you don’t want to do, unless you’re a real masochist.

Of cos is the washing machine…would u rather take a sponge and little dishwasher liquid to wash that few pieces of plates that require little effort to make clean and dry , or one whole basket of clothes that you need to scrub each piece of clothes (and maybe like big pieces like jeans and bedsheets) and wring them dry one by one with great strength? which one requires less energy is definitely the answer.

I would definitely keep my washing machine. I do about 6 loads a week and I wouldn’t want to do that by hand!
I only got a dish washer in the last couple of years, it is a great time saver but washing dishes by hand isn’t so bad.

Definately keep the washing machine. Washing clothes by hand is hard and I’m 4 miles from nearest laundrette.

The washing machine I can hand wash my dishes in a short time but banging my clothes against a rock in the river would take more time.

I’d definitely keep my washing machine. I got rid of my dishwasher two years ago and it’s the best thing I ever did.
It didn’t get my dishes particularly clean, anyway. I usually had to wash the pans when they came out of the dishwasher.
It also left marks on my drinking glasses. Besides it only takes ten minutes to wash the dishes.

You deffinitely need a washing machine, you can do easily without a dishwasher this is just for people that want luxury type appliance this is not a need, you can go without your dishwasher and just handwash your dishes. Good Luck !

I would keep the washing machine, as it is easer to do the washing up by hand than it is to wash clothes.

Definitely the washing machine – i lived without one for three months, washing clothes in the bath, or hauling them across town to the launderette, and giving up entire saturdays to doing my washing…..dishwashers are very convenient, but it is far less arduous to wash plates up than clothes – interesting question, got me thinking!

My washing machine. I could handle washing dishes by hand than to wash clothes by a rub board and hang them out to dry.
