How to power a portable 12 volts amplifier?

October 26th, 2009

I need to power some computer speakers from batteries. The power supply’s output is 12 volts at 850 milliamps. The only way i can think to power this is with ten 1.2 volt rechargeable batteries, and those would only last about 2 hours. does anyone have a more practical way to power a 12 volt amplifier?

you just need to get a bigger battery
something like a tractor
or alarm system system, about 6 AH should last maybe 10 hours
you can buy those at some electronic stores

you can use 4 AA bateries in series or use 1 9Volt and one AA or if u dont mind the weight a car battery would work, they are pricey and very heavy but will run your speakers for quite a while.
